About this Itinerary
On this tour you’ll visit wildlife environments and discover cultures of the Kikuyu Highland areas, Great Rift Valley Lakes and Maasai savanna. As a way to support community conservation and encourage the locals to preserve their heritage, we include visits to complimenting community area - we do a side-trip en-route to Masai Mara and get privileged insights into the Maasai people’s way of life before heading to Maasai Mara.
Mara is undoubtedly the best place to spot the wildlife, but the adjacent Siana conservation offers chances for hiking, bush dinners and night game drives. With good weather conditions you get a chance to participate in one or all of these activities.
Day 1: Journey to Nakuru/Coffee & tea farm visit.
Tour a coffee and tea estate. Try your try your hand at picking tea and coffee. Guided bird-watching walk. Overnight in hotel.
Day 2: Elementaita / Lake Naivasha.
Morning game drive in L. Nakuru park. Stopover at L. Elementaita. Stopover at L. Elementaita. Visit peasant farmer’s home and small farm in Lake Naivasha. Explore the lakeside. Overnight at comfortable lakeside resort.
Day 3: Boat ride / Maasai cultural insights.
Boat ride, game walk. Drive to Masailand. Visit a Masai widows home. Night game drive in Masai Mara plains. Overnight Mara Springs Camp.
Day 4: Full day game drive in Masai Mara.
Look out for big 5 and other game. Overnight Mara Springs Camp.
Day 5: Morning Game drive / return to Nairobi.
Hike up Naunare Hill. Watch African sunrise. bird watching. Journey back to Nairobi in time for a home-made lunch at our Rock house.
